SOURCEWEBZINE – You have a new record “Global Flatline”. How do you feel about the tunes on this new record?

Sven De Caluwe (V) – Well first off we can’t wait for it to be out already! the record has been ready for months so its been a long wait haha! We are very happy with how everything turned out, the songs, the production, the artwork, so far in retrospect nothing but satisfaction.

SOURCEWEBZINE – Could you give the readers three reasons why they should buy “Global Flatline”?

Sven De Caluwe (V) :

1- because its brutal and kickass

2- we will kill your parents if you don’t

3- because it has a lot of depth and variation, and oh, we will kill your parents if you
don’t!

SOURCEWEBZINE – Did you film any videos for the album “Global Flatline”?

Sven De Caluwe (V) – Yes we did, we shot a video for the song ‘the origin of disease’ which should be online in the next few days. We also shot a horror movie type trailer for the album done by the same brilliant mind (Phil Berridge from Creative junkie media). We
will be doing a few more videos as budget and time comes more available!

SOURCEWEBZINE – Do you normally read and care about what the critics writes about you in the papers and on the internet?

Sven De Caluwe (V) – Depends, if what they write is smart and objective and actually based on something truthful then yes, if its just shittalking for the sake of shittalking then there is no interest in reading or caring about it at all.

SOURCEWEBZINE – Have you experienced any differences in how the foreign press treats you and the band compared to how native press and media treats and writes about you?

Sven De Caluwe (V) – Umm, I would say that the foreign press a lot of times is more respectful than native press, there is always this jealousy thing going on within your own country, however at the same time you can also have the sense of pride they have for you, it really depends.

SOURCEWEBZINE – You’ve been in the music industry for a long time now. What has the been the biggest change you’ve seen?

Sven De Caluwe (V) – How music has turned into fastfood so to say, there are a ton of new kid bands that tour more than any band has ever toured and release these platformed records that sound like every record that is popular at that certain point in time, quite a shame really.

SOURCEWEBZINE – Has the economy and declining music industry affected the band personally?

Sven De Caluwe (V) – I am sure this affects every band out there, its tougher to make a living when people have less money to go to shows, when there are so many shows, buy shirts or even buy albums. A vicious circle I am afraid.

SOURCEWEBZINE – What’s the pros and cons with the internet music wise do you think?

Sven De Caluwe (V) – Pros are that its easy to promote your band and as a listener its easy to discover new things, bad is that every idiot with an internet connection thinks he has an opinion worth saying, and that people sometimes take artists for granted, for example download a record and check it out by all means, like in a record store when ppl used to listen, but if you like it, buy it don’t just steal it.

SOURCEWEBZINE – What is the most satisfying thing that you get out of music?

Sven De Caluwe (V) – Playing a packed show in front of people that go just as mental as the band, talking to fans after a show and meeting new people.

SOURCEWEBZINE – As you get older and have a family, is it tougher to be out on the road?

Sven De Caluwe (V) – Obviously, job, family and so on make it tougher to get out on the road, but on the other hand this is a job as well and they know we have to do it.

SOURCEWEBZINE – Is there any question that you get asked over and over again that is annoying to have to answer in interviews?

Sven De Caluwe (V) – Yes, the ones involving line ups, its about music, not line ups

SOURCEWEBZINE – Anything else you’d like to mention or promote?

Sven De Caluwe (V) – Buy the album please, or we kill you ! See you on Brazilian tour !
