// Falber Teles
SOURCE - Hi there, how are you? Already tired of interviews? ;) What are the band up to at the moment?
JAKOB BATTEN - Hey Falber. I’m tired but fine. Too much work, interviews, you name it. Right now we’re playing a few shows in Denmark and trying to relax as much as possible.
SOURCE - I would like to say that I have listened to "Burn Me Wicked" and think it is great. What are your thoughts on the new album and how do you think it compares to your other records?
JB - Thank you. I also like this one very much. I think it’s a bit more rough than the last one. And I think our next album will be even harder. We’re old boys but apparently we still have a bit energy left.
SOURCE - The artwork is a little different this time around. What's the story behind this?
JB - Yeah, it symbolizes the main theme on the album: That women are like drugs. They attract you, make you addicted and slowly you fall into decay.
SOURCE - How much input has Martin Thim had on the song-writing ?
JB - Nothing – I wrote the whole album. He had to learn the old songs so he could play them live so he didn’t have time.
SOURCE - "Burn Me Wicked" climbed up to good position in the Danish album charts. Does that mean screaming girls in the front row ?
JB - Of course, but that’s nothing new. The bitches always loved us!
SOURCE - Now that you're on your second album for Roadrunner Records, how are you experiencing being on a bigger label as opposed to Diehard Music ?
JB - Everything is handled way more professionally and of course the sales figures look much better because of their good distribution. But for some reason they don’t want to release the album in USA – that sucks!
SOURCE - What were your ambitions when recording "Burn Me Wicked" ?
JB - Honestly: Nothing. We never expect anything and I find that positive because we never get disappointed then. Of course we knew that it would be very difficult to live up to “1-800 Vindication” but it seems that it gets even better reviews. That was a bit unexpected.
SOURCE - Todays music is all about categorizingng bands under some genre. What are your opinions about that? What do you consider that ILLDISPOSED is if you have to mark your music some way?
JB - Yeah and I think it sucks. All the time bands categorize themselves under some new genre just to make people believe they are original. But they’re not. And that metalcore thing, I don’t get it. When people ask me what we play I always say “heavy metal”. That’s it.
SOURCE - We don’t hear a great deal about the Danish hardcore/metal scene in Brazil. Could you please fill us in, on what is happening on the metal scene in Denmark and which Danish bands we should look out for?
JB - The Danish scene is booming right now. Bands like MERCENARY, VOLBEAT, RAUNCHY and HATESPHERE get a lot of attention internationally.
SOURCE - What do you do in your ordinary life to make a living? Would you rather do music full-time if you were given the possibility?
JB - I work as a System Administrator. We all have jobs besides the band and we’re not interested in making a living out of it. We don’t like the long tours and that’s what it takes to live of the music. Touring sucks.
SOURCE - I´d like to know which are the countries where you have more fans and following, besides Denmark.
JB - Definitely Germany. Germany is our second home country. It’s really a great market for us. But in general we have a good following most countries we played in.
SOURCE - Anything you wish to add to conclude this interview ?
JB - Check out “Burn Me Wicked” – Vodka is the water of life…
