AJATTARA

SOURCEWEBZINE - First off before going any deeper I would like to know that how is it going for you and AJATTARA at the moment? Where are you answering into my questions?
Ruoja Suruntuoja (B/V) - Ajattara is doing great and I'm in Zeronexus as usual!

SOURCEWEBZINE - I want to congratulate you on the last studio album. It turned out really great. I think with each album, it’s kind of a breakthrough for you guys. You keep pushing it further and further. How easy or hard is it for you guys to write each album ?
Ruoja Suruntuoja (B/V) - Thank you very much! As I make all the music for Ajattara I can say that it is between trying too mutch and let it be. Basically it just come's from somewhere and all you need to do is to put it on record.

SOURCEWEBZINE - So you did not have a specific goal in mind when you started to write material for "Kalmanto"?
Ruoja Suruntuoja (B/V) - It is kinda special state of mind everytime you start to compose a new Ajattara album and it has allways a certain goal depends on what is goin on in my personal life.

SOURCEWEBZINE - In an effort to deter individuals from downloading albums rather than purchasing them, record labels are doing more to attract listeners. Besides ornate artwork, DVD audio discs, and actual DVDs, what else can be done to entice people to buy albums? Is there a way to take it “too far”?
Ruoja Suruntuoja (B/V) - All I can say is "bring back the vinyl, please"!

SOURCEWEBZINE - You guys get great press, great reviews…deservedly so. How does it feel to get your art fully appreciated by the fans and the media. A lot of other bands may write really great albums but do not always get recognized.
Ruoja Suruntuoja (B/V) - Of course it feel's good and it is kinda proof that you are doing the right thing as our method is to make music only for our selves. And that's actually the only way to make anything real and pure stuff, what ever it is.

SOURCEWEBZINE - Is it possible to get by as a musician in Finland? Do you all have day-time jobs besides AJATTARA ?
Ruoja Suruntuoja (B/V) - It's kinda hard to get along as a musician in Finland cause first of all it's very small country but obviusly it's possible when you have international succes, unless you are doing shit for the masses, thought! But still we are only doing music couse it is our force to stay alive and to be onest it's the only thing we can do!

SOURCEWEBZINE - What´s currently hot on your music plate? What kind of stuff do you normally listen to?
Ruoja Suruntuoja (B/V) - I'm very open mindet with all kind of music but the most favourite music for me is black metal and hardcore punk.

SOURCEWEBZINE - Are there any plans for future tours in Brazil and South America ?
Ruoja Suruntuoja (B/V) - I do hope that someday we will play in south america and not less because off your cheap cocaine, just kidding! :) - (editor note: Bad joke, man !)

SOURCEWEBZINE - Could you tell us any information about Christmas single ?
Ruoja Suruntuoja (B/V) - The name of our fourth christmas single is "Tulppaani", it means a turlip and okay it's also a plant but the thing we are singing about is an old Afcanistan way to torture your foe.You cut the skin above a croin and then you pull it over a victims head and tight it up and put it hangin on a tree. As may you can see, a "turlip".:)

SOURCEWEBZINE - Thanks a lot for taking the time to answer my question. Any final rants for our readers?
Ruoja Suruntuoja (B/V) - Multa tuli!
