SOURCEWEBZINE – For those who aren’t familiar with where your band’s name came from can you explain it?
Tony JJ (Vocals) – I came up with it, and I wanted a sort name, that everybody easily could say. The meaning of the three letters are something for you as an individua to make up. It could stand for Massive, Audio, Nerve, Machine And Nature, Metal All Night (haha).
SOURCEWEBZINE – Can you introduce yourself, M.A.N. and the backgrounds of each member to us?
Tony JJ (Vocals) – The band was formed out of the ashes of Transport League. I wanted to front a band better, so I dropped the guitar and I’m just handeling the microphone right now. I also felt that the sound had changed so much in TL since the 2 first albums, and there had been some many member changes etc, so I just wanted to push the reset button. Rob on Bass has a past in the band Relevant Few and Engel. Engberg on drums played in local act called Painfield, and Robguz just had his own solo stuff going on.
SOURCEWEBZINE – How did you get to play in such an extreme band?
Tony JJ (Vocals) – Well, hmm, I don’t think that we are that extreme !
SOURCEWEBZINE – The new record is the first one you will be releasing through Tiefdruck-Musik Records. How has the cooperation with you and the label been so far?
Tony JJ (Vocals) – The cooperation is allright, let’s see what the future brings us.
SOURCEWEBZINE – What other Tiefdruck-Musik Records artists do you associate with?
Tony JJ (Vocals) – Almost all of them, we feel very much that we fitted here good.
SOURCEWEBZINE – What was the most important thing you learned as a musician, when creating and recording “Peacenemy”?
Tony JJ (Vocals) – That nothing in carved in stone before you really put it on tape. The creation of this album has been the most proffesional I’ve ever been involved in. All the members has participated in all the parts, and that has been geat, M.A.N is really a team now.
SOURCEWEBZINE – Your last album got really good reviews. Did you feel any pressure to match or exceed its success?
Tony JJ (Vocals) – Nope, I feel that this album has even more to offer then the debut, no doubt.
SOURCEWEBZINE – How did Burton C Bell from Fear Factory’s guest appearance come about?
Tony JJ (Vocals) – I’ve known Burton since we did the tour with them in 2006, and we’ve stayed in touch since then. Burton is also a huge fan of Transport League, and actually topranks the “Superevil” album, which is really cool.
SOURCEWEBZINE – You recently filmed a video for the track “My Own Sickness”. Could you tell us a little bit about the video. Whose came up with the idea to it?
Tony JJ (Vocals) – Yes, the video is really cool, it has some different elements that you usually not see in a Metal video pinks drums, disney plasters etc hahaha. The idea was ours in the band, and we are really happy with the outsome. We will shoot a new video for the track “Blood Vanish” in some weeks, that will also be special.
SOURCEWEBZINE – Does your band make money by touring and selling merchandise or by selling CDs?
Tony JJ (Vocals) – Well, we survive, we all have our dayjobs, and the music is really a hobby.
SOURCEWEBZINE – What’s your worst habit ?
Tony JJ (Vocals) – Sex.
SOURCEWEBZINE – Your single “My Own Sickness” has been available to download via label site. How has that been going?
Tony JJ (Vocals) – It has been really good, don’t know how many downloads, but the label are very happy.
SOURCEWEBZINE – A little bit about internet. What’s your opinion about the big web communities such as Facebook, MySpace etc.? Do you consider them as a good or a bad thing?
Tony JJ (Vocals) – Good things, but you should not let them control your life, coz then it’s bad.
