SOURCE – In 2025, you’ll be celebrating 40 years of Murder Metal. What major events do you have planned to mark this milestone? Are there any plans to record a DVD, for instance?

Corporate Death (Guitars, Vocals) – We just finished a European tour with festivals, and Brazil is next—our first time playing there! No plans for a DVD.

SOURCE – Grim Reality, the EP that was released back in 1986, remains one of the band’s most iconic successes. How do you look back on that debut record today?

Corporate Death (Guitars, Vocals) – We recorded that EP in 1986, trying to create our own sound by blending different styles, and I think it still holds up today. We still play songs from it.

SOURCE – What can you say about the video for “The Ted Bundy Song,” featuring Travis Ryan (Cattle Decapitation), released in 1993 on Macabre’s Sinister Slaughter album?

Corporate Death (Guitars, Vocals) – Travis did a great job, and he looked just like Ted Bundy. We were happy to have him participate. We also made another Bundy video called “Wheels on the Bug”—check it out.

SOURCE – Streaming platforms like Spotify have dramatically changed how music is consumed. How has your relationship with them evolved, and do you feel they’ve had a positive impact on your career?

Corporate Death (Guitars, Vocals) – Spotify helps people discover music at the press of a button. But tape trading was how we used to share music, so times have changed quite a bit since we started Macabre.

SOURCE – The latest album, Carnival of Killers, came out in 2020. Are there any plans or anticipation for a new album release?

Corporate Death (Guitars, Vocals) – No, not right now.

SOURCE – Illinois has always been home to some major names in the scene, like Macabre, Master, Impetigo, and Sindrome, among others. Which artists or bands from the state would you highlight today?

Corporate Death (Guitars, Vocals) – Avernus, Bear Mace, Molder, Bones, Texas Toast Chainsaw Massacre, Cardiac Arrest, The Suffering, Yakuza, Morgue Supplier, Bible of the Devil, Beyond Deth, Johnny Vomit, Gigan, and Blood of the Wolf, to name some of them. The Chicago scene has so many great bands and is a good scene for metal.

SOURCE – Is there anything else you’d like to add?

Corporate Death (Guitars, Vocals) – We look forward to finally playing Brazil, so come check us out. Thanks for the interview.
