SOURCE – Firstly, congratulations on 27 Miles Underwater, it’s and incredible album! Tell us a little bit about the album and how the production and recording went for this?

Jimmy Wizard (Vocals) – Before this record higher power was more like a writing unit that was just me louis and Alex but for this record it felt more like a real. Band effort with us all playing in the room together connecting more and listening to eachother and everyone being involved in the process it was real cool it was the first time we had ever done pre production and demoed songs before a record so a lot of self criticism and looking at the songs went on before we even recorded which is something we had always done after a record was recorded we recorded it in like 2 weeks with Gil norton and he took everything we had been doing above and pushed us even more it was a super good experience.

SOURCE – Nowadays in every album the person responsible for the sound production is strongly mentioned especially when he is a known one. How important do you think is the producer to the sound of a band?

Jimmy Wizard (Vocals) – For us working with Gil was something we needed I think personally it just showed us another way of viewing music and creating songs there’s things that worked for us and there’s things that didn’t but I have always been an advocate for working with other creative people in whatever you chose to create because there is always something to be learned from those experiences even when something doesn’t work for you you are still learning from that experience I think for us working with Gil was nothing but a positive experience and the record definitely wouldn’t be what it is without his input.

SOURCE – Now there is a lot of uncertainty about the Coronavirus issue, how do you think this COVID-19 affects the music industry and specially the world of music?

Jimmy Wizard (Vocals) – For a band like us that relies on touring for the small income we get it’s changed everything we tour because we love it and we just want to play music for people and now that is obsolete and will be for a while I think it’s kind of forced us to completely re think the way we operate as a band and connect with people it’s a really strange time in some sense it’s like everything we know no longer exists.

SOURCE – Have you been doing any live-streamed concerts during COVID-19 or do you plan to? A lot of artists have been doing them, do you think it’s a challenge to make them original and interesting?

Jimmy Wizard (Vocals) – We haven’t done any live streams we have more been focusing on using this time to write And explore new ideas and tunings etc none of us are really big in living life through the internet I would rather wait to play a show so no one is really pushing the idea of a live stream right now but we are playing Together a lot so I’m sure something will come of it eventually.

SOURCE – Fan reaction, as is often the case, seems to have been mixed if the Internet reaction is any indication. Have you gone online much, if at all, to read some of the responses that fans have had to the new album?

Jimmy Wizard (Vocals) – It’s strange because you only ever get sent the positive reviews I never go and search for that stuff tho I appreciate everyone who reaches out to me with something kind to say and would rather spend my time replying and connecting with those people then get caught up with trying to convince people why they should listen to my band if they don’t like it that’s cool.

SOURCE – What plans do you have once the world reopens?

Jimmy Wizard (Vocals) – Tour the whole world connect with people take in everything this crazy world has to offer and have new music to play for everybody.
