Sirkuit Preiker

Medeia’s Samuli Peltola unleashes Electronic Metal solo project: Sirkuit Preiker. The single Heijastus combines complex sampling with harsh vocals, abrupt tempo changes, and instrumentation resembling technical modern metal. Peltola’s vision is not to dwell only there, but to eventually develop the story into a positive force that empowers listeners and also touches other forms of art. Heijastus single was released on May 15, 2020 via Playground Music Finland. Reflections!

Cauldron Black Ram

Australia’s bastard horde of pillaging plunderers CAULDRON BLACK RAM sail the high seas again producing a full-length decree for the first time in six years. Slaver presents ten sordid new tales of grim malevolence and dishonorable miscreants. The experienced hand of decades renders this singularly underground beast adept in the dark arts of skulduggery and churning sodden death deliverance, a task of which they partake with cruel delight. Slaver is another ominous musical masterpiece showing that there are still plenty of dark corners to be fruitfully explored within the black metal realm.

Atavist

Reformed in 2016 after a 10 year hiatus, the UK’s most crushing Death/Doom stalwarts, Atavist, triumphantly return in 2020 with a brand new studio album on Friday June 19th titled ‘III: Absolution’. Atavist features Winterfylleth Guitarist and Vocalist, Chris Naughton, along with Bassist Shane Ryan, Drummer Callum Cox and Vocalist Toby Bradshaw. Moving things onwards from the sludgier nature of their previous works III:Absolution also features the haunting string performances of prominent solo artist Jo Quail on Cello (Mono/My Dying Bride), as well as the exceptional talents of Bianca Blezard on Viola/Violin (Winterfylleth).

The album also incorporates some new twists and turns along with way, featuring a number of moving, atmospheric, synth landscapes from the ever talented Winterfylleth/ARD keyboardist Mark Deeks, to compliment the Doom.

The Swell Fellas

Hailing from their hometown of Ocean City – Maryland, The Swell Fellas are fresh off of the release of their debut full length, The Big Grand Entrance, in January and clearly show no signs of slowing down after following up their debut album with a 3 song EP just a few months later. This power trio is made up of a pair of brothers, Conner and Chris Poole (guitar and drums respectively) with their longtime friend, Mark Rohrer, a rock guitarist who they begged to buy bass gear. Modern psych/prog rock anthems! Recommended!
